Dear friends of Urban Ministry,

Heartfelt gratitude. These two words convey what we at Urban Ministry hope to express to you for your support during our Summer Campaign. 

If they could thank you, I am certain that the people we serve with and among in ministry would join us in thanking you, too. 

• Your contribution during these critical, and often lean, summer months makes a big difference for people like Carol and Anthony, who enjoy regular meals at our Community Kitchen.  
• Your faithful giving means that several elderly neighbors, including Johnny, will get their houses painted by caring young people who put their faith into action at our Rush Center Summer Program. 
• Your gifts enable our neighbors in West End to access healthy produce from WE Gardens and our twice-monthly Curb Market.  
• Because of you, children like Kayla enjoy incredibly fun and enriching experiences at our Urban Kids Summer Day Camp. 

You are not alone in your loving support for Urban Ministry. As I write, we are one-fourth of the way into our Summer Matching campaign, and we’re on track to reach our goal of $45,000 by the end of August. Our matching donors (including the Alabama Power Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama's Caring Foundation and others) have pledged matching gifts of over $20,000, meaning that your gifts will be increased by nearly one-third.

It also means that Carol, Anthony, Johnny, Kayla, and others will continue to experience the loving and caring support that comes from your shared ministries of compassion and wholeness.
